What is Sera Myu?

 Sera Myu is what the Japanese call the Sailor Moon Musicals, in Japan. Yup, there are Sailor Moon Musicals running in Japan ever since 1993 and is still going on today!  Sera Myu means a lot to us at Sailor Jamboree, and it is because of our love of Sailor Moon and Sera Myu, that we were formed! So what makes Sera Myu so special? You immediately become mesmerised with the catchy songs, the showy costumes, captivating cast, brilliant colors, intriguing story, and cool speciial effects in the Sera Myu shows! It is reminiscent of "Broadway" here in the States, really! Even though most of the Sera Myu fans here in the U.S. do not understand Japanese fully, they just keep on watching it, just like moonies watching the Sailor Moon Anime. =)

 There are two different  types of performance groups of Sera Myu. The 1st one was from 1993-1997 and is  reffered to as the "1st Stage". The 1st stage starred the singing sensation, Anza Oyama as Sailor Moon, and consisted of some members from the popular "Sakurakko Club" (see image gallery), who were a large all-girl idol singing group. Also some members of the 1st stage were under the lable of "Moon Lips" which is their group name when releasing CD's for Sailor Moon & Sera Myu - they also sang the S and Super S opening themes of the Sailor Moon Anime. The Second group of performers, starting in '98 is called the "2nd Stage", and is still preforming today, as we speak! Beautiful model and teen idol, Fumina Hara, took stage in '98-'99 as Sailor Moon, and now a new Sailor Moon, Miyuki is ready to start the 2000 season.

 Sera Myu continues to captivate Japanese audiences, and with it's growing popularity, it may reach our shores soon as dubbed videos (let's keep our fingers crossed!) Sera Myu has been so influential that Kondansha is in the process of creating a spin-off manga called "Sailor Moon World"!! Read More about this at the SOS Site: SOS- Save Our Sailors Campaign . Sailor JAM-Boree And The Sera Myu Connection

 So what does Sailor JAM-boree got to do with Sera Myu? Well, Sera Myu has inspired us in many ways- If Sera Myu was never created, Sailor JAM-Boree probably would have never been created. We base our productions on the Sera Myu songs, the choreography and even some aspects of the costumes. It is part of our mission to promote the Sera Myu musicals as much as possible, and we preform the songs and dances in hopes to generate interest and knowledge of what is going on in Japan with the story of Sailor Moon. We have to let people know that the legend of Sailor Moon hasn't ended - It's just starting!
