Born in Grayshott, Hants., England, actor Colin Firth has built a remarkable career, exploring a fascinating array of characters, from his brooding, rude and ultimately romantic Darcy in "Pride and Prejudice" to the neurotic Adrian LeDuc in "Apartment Zero," the brash and baffled Robert Lawrence in "Tumbledown," the gentle, war-damaged Tom Birkin in "A Month in the Country," the fragile Stephen Whalby of "Master of the Moor" and the youth of passionate convictions, Tommy Judd, in "Another Country."

There are a number of other websites devoted to this fine actor, chock full of photographs, images, sound files and more. At this site, which is still being developed, you are invited to contribute your thoughts on his many films - whether you wish to analyze a scene, ask a question or discuss the film as a whole. To get you going, a few essays, illustrated by snappies and other images and linked to other relevant online resources will be posted here. This site will likely be of most interest to people who have seen the films in question - or who are wishing to get more of a feel for the flavor of the film, and Mr. Firth's role in it, than a simple review might provide. Your comments will be of interest to others and may open those who read it to new aspects of a film or Mr. Firth's performance.

Also linked to this page are a few candid photos of Mr. Firth.
