History : "Minister, I regret to inform you that we have confirmation, The New Knights of the Round Table are dead. Fortunately we at The Department have anticipated such an outcome. If you turn to page 8 of the black file you will see a list of potential replacements. Replacements i might add that are less....independant.

"As you see Soldier A is a Captain in the SAS with combat tours in Northern Ireland, Iran, Iraq and New Zealand, we can equip him with the prototype Clansman MK2 battlesuit and have him on duty by the end of the week.

"News of the Globe: CLANSMAN vs IRONSIDE In a bizzare series of events yesterday Government Hero Clansman attacked mourners at the funeral of war hero Ironside. Innocent bystanders were protected by a previously unknown metahuman called Skeleteam and what appears to have been the ghost of Ironside. The battle left Clansman unconsious and caused severe damage to several buildings. Later in hospital Clansman said "I can't choose my battlefields any more than my predescessor could. I was at the funeral to recover a dangerously contaminated battlesuit, I was attacked there by a dangerously deluded wildstrike victim who thinks he's a character from a Sci-fi novel, when I catch him I will see to it that Skeleteam gets the Psychiatric care he clearly needs." The Globe Says..."we think the new clansman is a loose cannon and should be fired, if you agree ring our freephone number on....

The Department: This shadowy organization was set up to provide counter-espionage for Britain shortly after WW2. That was a long time ago, The Department has it's own agenda now. Known Department operations include the use of the Assasin Callan to kill political rivals, the running of an illegal interogation complex known as The Village and the torture of it's own agents to prove loyalty. All official contacts with The Department are handled by "Mr Hunter" or "No.2" (the actual identities change but the names stay the same). The Department regarded the New Knights as a threat, with thier death they have taken steps to ensure that THEY control the replacements. Clansman is unaware of The Department's true nature and will react very badly if they betray him. For their part the Department already have ways of neutralising Clansman in place.                                   


Personality: Clansman recieved his training in the SAS and as such tends to fall back on those tactics in a fight. He hit's hard, fast, takes no prisoners, and shows no mercy. He is a very disciplined individual who strongly believes in the chain of command. It will take a lot to convince him to disobey orders. Clansman is unused to public exposure and after his first disasterous mission has taken a severe dislike to the press in general and The Tabliod in particular. He has also developed a grudge against Skeleteam and is frustrated that he is not allowed to touch him.


Powers : Clansman's SAS training means that he is lethal even without his armour. in close combat he uses his combat knife and has a backup flechette gun firing depleted uranium darts tipped with nerve toxin.

Clansman Mk2 Battlesuit: The Clansman Mk2 is a quantum leap improvement over the original design. where the original was basically a grenade thrower backpack and Kevlar padding, the new design is a fully articulated exo-skeleton. The grenade thrower has been replaced with a variable ordnance, heat seeking mini-missile launcher. Warheads include :- HE,Smoke and CS gas. an APEX warhead is still being developed. The mk1 glider pack has been replaced with flight unit using captured Viper technology. The Battlesuit is also rumoured to contain Genocide technology.


Occupation : Soldier A regards himself as a career military officer on detached duty. The Department regards him as a tool to be used or thrown away.
Appearance: Civilian ID - CLASSIFIED. The Clansman Mk2 Battlesuit is a full coverage suit painted british army green with exposed gunmetal componants. The suit is humanoid in appearance with the addition of an active sensor pod mounted on the left shoulder and the twin barrelled missile launcher mounted on the right. The flight unit is stored in a backpack with telescopic wings. A British Flag is painted on the right breast and the emblem of the SAS on the left shoulder pod. Clansman has spraypainted trophy marks on the launcher for each enemy defeated (one domino mask, four V for Vipers).

Author's Note: Clansman is loosely based upon a character from Kingdom of Champions by Hero Games.

Please Note:

1/ Staged penetration - whenever armour is hit, even if not penetrated.

2/ Battlesuit hit location table - like any vehicle the suit has critical systems.

3/ Kevlar Armour is only used when the mecha is critically penetrated by a 10 hit.
