Lobos Creek Dunes Wildflowers and Flowering Shrubs

		Cobweb Thistle (Cirsium occidentale var. californicum)   Composite / Sunflower (Asteraceae) family Perennial Bloom times: approx. April - June
		It's easy to see why cobweb is in the name.
Filmy threads are wound over the area below (floral bracts) the thistle flowers. There are only a few of these on and around the dunes. They range in height from a foot to 2 feet tall.
