Founded in September of 1994, the Skyline Brass quickly established itself in the chamber music field.  The ensemble is the only brass ensemble chosen nationwide to participate in the prestigious National Endowment for the Arts/Chamber Music America Rural Residencies Program for five consecutive years.  In conjunction with the program, the Skyline Brass has been featured yearly in a subscription concert series, commissioned and premiered new brass works, performed hundreds of school programs and recitals, and promoted chamber music through lectures, coaching chamber ensembles, and private instruction.

The Skyline Brass has presented masterclasses, concerts, and lectures at several conferences including the Iowa Music Educators Association, Iowa Bandmasters Association and Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Sorority for Women Educators.   The ensemble has performed extensively in Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.  Currently, the Skyline Brass is ensemble-in-residence at the Iowa State University, Drake University, Grinnell College, Simpson College, Des Moines Area Community College, and Ballard School District in Iowa.

Equally adept at playing jazz, early music, orchestral transcriptions, and contemporary works, the ensemble’s repertoire spans over 400 years and includes many of their own arrangements.
