June 1st - 3rd,  Maumelle, Arkansas

Wow.  How often does one attend an event that actually exceeds every expectation one might have?  Not very often for this author, but S.M.A.L.L. 2001 "did it" for me.  It would be impossible for me to put into words and photos the state of constant elation present at this event, but sit back for a few minutes and cruise through these pages for at least a narrow peek at the people and their flying machines.

Panoramas
Thanks to the digital wonders now available to us, I was able to stitch a series of photos together for some excellent panoramic views.  These images will take between thirty seconds and two minutes to download (depending on your connection speed).  Let each image fully load, then click and drag the scroll bar at the bottom for a somewhat realistic rendition of standing in one place and "looking around".  Note that the images only represent a small portion of the people and aircraft at the event, and are meant only to give one the general "feel" of the pit areas.  Sorry, no panoramas of the pits on the north side.  Hit your "BACK" button to return to this page.
Between The Pits
This image was taken on the south side of the impound/control center, representing approximately 270 degrees of view.
Behind The Flight Line
This image was taken standing just behind the flight line (visible on the left side of the image) and pans about 180 degrees.

More photos will be added when developed.  E-mail photos to be included, corrections that need to be made, and information that needs to be added  (this event only) to: DTFBiplane@aol.com   Publishers, all photos here (that I took, including the panoramas) are available at high resolution, free for the asking...  just drop me a line.  Last update: 6/19/01  Mike S.
