The building in the background is still there today. It is Stoops Education and Information Studies Library , situated on the corner of Hoover and 34th St.,LA.

Unfortunately the French version of Hog Wild is missing. The good news is that six Spanish shorts and the Spanish Pardon Us(feature) have been found.  Blotto and Les Carrotiers(Be Big and Laughing Gravy) in French  and a trailer for Pardon Us in German also survive....but no phonetic versions of  HOG WID. STOP PRESS NEWS....THE GERMAN LAUREL & HARDY MURDER CASE HAS BEEN FOUND!! We have devoted a whole page to this new discovery, so go here: GERMAN L&H MURDER CASE The great thing about these foreign versions is that they often contain extra footage not in the USA prints. Many of the 'Laurel and Hardy' film locations survive to this day  (including where the above photos were taken corner of Hoover and 34th St.) in Los Angeles. Several of these RARE phonetic versions are included in the :NEW 21 DVD SET  from Universal,but this is out in ENGLAND only and will not play in the USA as it is on the European Pal system.
