| Significant because Neptune High School
graduated two original members of the E Street Band and the leader of the Asbury Jukes.
Vini Lopez, Garry Tallent and Southside Johnny Lyon all graduated from Neptune High School
in 1967. Makes one wonder what was in the water around 1949. Springsteen made a single appearance at the Headliner nightclub on Route 35 in Neptune in the late 70's. The club is once again open and features live music by mostly cover bands. Springsteen also appeared at the now-closed Green Parrot tavern on Route 33 in Neptune just east of Jersey Shore Medical Center performing a reggae version of "Born in the USA" with local reggae singer Jah Love. |
