| Former home to an icon of the Jersey Shore, the beach train. The train
plied the sands from the north end of Pt. Pleasant Beach to the south. Alas, it fell
victim to one too many nor'easters covering the tracks under tons of sand. Nowadays, you can catch the B Street Band (formerly Backstreets) usually on Sunday night's in the summer at Jenkinson's (south) on the boardwalk. This is a Springsteen cover band that does a reputable job and always pulls in a crowd. The B Street Band also appears on a semi-regular basis at The Trade Winds in Sea Bright. Bobby Bandiera often plays at Martell's Tiki Bar just a few doors south of Jenkinson's (south) on the boardwalk at 308-310 Boardwalk. Telephone: 732-892-0131. |
