PRESS RELEASE
A group of men accused of abusing family members meet in Wakefield every Wednesday
night from 7:30pm till 9:00pm. We are a self-help program for people accused of being abusive
by their partners. You can join us by calling (781)246- 3691.
When a person is served a restraining order, removed from his home and kept from seeing his
family, he is at great risk to himself and others. If he violates the restraining order, as most do, he
is arrested; if he lashes out with anger at his partner or others, he is a "batterer;" if he runs, he is
deserting his family. Guilty or innocent of the charged domestic abuse, people in this situation
need and deserve help, but it is simply not available.
Support for People Accused of Abuse (SPAA) is a small and growing community of people who
have come together to support each other's journey through these difficult times. In an
anonymous and "save" environment, we are able to reexamine our lives and make the necessary changes to
get back on track. If you would like more information on SPAA, please call
(781)246-3691.
