About Spa City Racing ,Season "wrap up" & 2001 plans :
Thanks for stopping by Spa City Racing! After years as a motorsports participant and enthusiast, I decided it was finally time to join the fun. After attending a few Legends races I went to an "arrive and drive" program at the Waterford Speedbowl in Aug. 1998, a few laps around the track in the little car and I was hooked. Sept. 1998 I attended the Jack Arute Legends driving school at the Waterford Speedbowl.  In Oct. 1998 I purchased my current Legends car in Michigan.  1999  was an exciting "rookie" year, I raced at 23 events, winning 4 heat races, 6 top 5's & 16 top 10's. I finished 4th in NY State (semi-pro) and 61st of 649 semi-pro nationally.  The 2000 season I would have to say was only semi successful, with alot of highs and lows.  I raced 22 events winning my first "semi- pro" race, also  winning 4 heat races, 5 top 5's & 14 top 10's. I finished 6th in points at Evans Mills Speedway, I missed one race due to the fact the transmission on my truck broke while enroute to a race. I finished 5th in NY State (semi-pro) and 76th of 593 semi-pro nationally. The focus for 2001 is to put 2000 behind us and concentrate on setups and better preparation, both mentally and mechanically. I plan to run as many events as possible at tracks throughout New York and New England. Spa City Racing is going to race a lot of tracks new to the series so stay tuned. I will try to update the race results page as fast as possible, as a lot of you know we built my mom a new house last year and that took time away from race prep. and web page update, so stop back often and track the progress of Spa City Racing.  Please support my sponsors and an organization that makes racing accessible to families and all race fans!

About Legends Cars:
Racing fans can now climb behind the wheel of their own race cars and experience firsthand the thrills and excitement of competitive, sanctioned racing. Legends Cars, available through 600 Racing or any of its authorized Legends dealers, make racing fun and affordable for everyone!

Legends Cars are created by 600 Racing, Inc., a division of Speedway Motorsports Inc., and sanctioned by INEX, Corp. to provide a fun and affordable racing opportunity in which anyone (experienced or inexperienced) can compete. INEX was formed in 1995 after changing its name from TECH CAR in 1994, and SPEC CAR in 1995. This series fights the high costs involved in racing and the rules are strictly enforced to ensure safety and cost control.

Legends Cars are 5/8-scale, fiberglass models of the modified cars driven by early racing legends during the formative years of auto racing. But don’t let their size fool you - these are serious race cars! Running on asphalt, dirt, drag strips and even ice(!), each Legends car is powered by a Yamaha 1200cc motorcycle engine, delivering 122 horsepower, built to strict specifications at 600 Racing headquarters and equipped with 60 series BFGoodrich radial tires.

Legends Cars come in seven body styles:                  Previous Legends Car Drivers:
1934 Ford Sedan                                                      Dale Earnhardt Jr.
1937 Ford Coupe & Sedan                                       Casey Atwood
1940 Ford Coupe                                                      Hank Parker
1937 Chevy Coupe & Sedan                                     Barry Bodine
1937 Dodge Coupe                                                   Kurt Busch

Legends Cars are one of the fastest growing forms of motorsports!

In 1999, Legends Cars ran over 1,800 events in 45 states, also running in Canada, Great Britian, Sweden and for the first time in Mexico! INEX sanctioned events at 278 facilities worldwide and has quickly grown to be the third largest racing organization in short track racing!
