Here's my home page. It's divided into several areas. Each area has an explanation of why it's important to me, and then links to other sites that I have found that contain information. In some cases, you may want to email me for more information about the topic.

My family
I was born in 1959 in Boulder, Colorado and am the eldest of three children. My father was a public school teacher. He is now in pastoral work in Colorado Springs. My mother was a homemaker for most of my growing up years. She is also now involved in church work.

In 1981 I married Irene. She is a school teacher, raised near Ft. Morgan, Colorado. We now have two children Ian, and Alison. We are now living in the north part of Denver. I have been in public school teaching for nearly fifteen years in Eastern Colorado and in the Denver area, mostly teaching the sciences. Irene is now teaching special education at the middle school level after several years off raising our children. She is an elementary teacher, and her primary interest is in reading.

My education
I have been educated at several distinctive schools. My first of note was the United World College of the Atlantic in South Wales where I pursued the International Baccalaureate program.
I then attended The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado where I earned a BA in Biology.
I earned my MA in Education from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1985.
My latest degree took four years to earn. That was a Master of Divinity (MDiv) at Denver Seminary.
I graduated in the Spring of 2002 with my Ph.D. in New Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  I am now teaching at Stargate Charter School in Thornton, Colorado.

Check out my Greek exercises.

Are you interested in Christian evangelism, especially in Germany and Europe?  If so, then I would like to recommend Hope WorldWide, an evangelistic ministry of some friends of ours, Greg and Mila Piper.  They have been involved in evangelism and church ministry in southern Germany.  They need financial support.  Check out their site!

Genealogy

To link to my GEDCOM sites at ROOTSWEB. Once there, you can search and download, and make descendent and pedigree charts.  I also have pictures of more recent people, and some of the Heaths.  Eventually I would like to get some reports with all the people in it and add pictures etc., but now it's too much work.

My family in the USA

Crawford IL OH (Thomas Crawford of Hocking Co., OH abt 1850. Married Maranda Hudson) [He was the son of James and Abigail (Vest) Crawford of Morgan Co., OH]  Would still like more information on their ancestry, and on Maranda's ancestry.  Her father was probably Thomas Hudson of Maryland.

Clark IL OH (James R. Clark of Moultrie Co., IL) Linked to the Daniel Clark family of Connecticut.  James Clark married Elizabeth Free in OH.  She was the daughter of Michael Free and Catherine Curfman.  They were from Maryland, and I need more information on them.

Murchison TX NC SCOT (Kenneth Murchison who married Catherine McIvor and Catherine Campbell ([A dead end for me]). I had traced Kenneth's line back into the nobility of Scotland and England.  The information is derived from the following manuscript, and assumes that Kenneth's father was Simon, which was in error.  (More current work shows that Kenneth's father was William.)  Here is the Dornie manuscript which gives the early history of the Murchisons in Scotland.  I also have some other papers done by some others who are doing Murchison research.  They are rather large, contact me if you want them.  They are in Microsoft Word for Windows.  Also, some Murchison pictures of my Murchisons and others.

Doughty NJ IN CO Descendent of Felix Doughty, family originally from NJ and previously from Philadelphia around 1685. Connections with Teagardens, Edwards of NC. Doughtys from New Jersey, and probably from Philadelphia before that.  These Edwards connect to the Hintons of VA and PA, and from there to the Boones of VA, PA and England.

Heath NC IN IA,TX NM Descendent of William and Christopher Heath of NC and John of Virginia and England. Have some information on other early Heath lines.

Johnston NC IA Archibald Johnston may have been born in VA, he went from NC to TN, IN, and died in IA. He married Betsay Booth, daughter of David & Hannah Booth, of Delaware. I think that Archibald Johnston is the son of Robert Johnston of Rowan Co., NC, but lack definite proof.

Merrill NC TX Descendent of Benjamin Merrill, the Regulator executed by the British.

Miner, Thomas MA CN (Thomas, Clement, Joseph, Joseph, Jesse, Turner, Turner, Henry) Interested in corresponding with others descended from these later descendents.

Stranahan of CT

Brewster I have the ancestry of Mary Wyrrall, a candidate for the wife of William Brewster of the Mayflower.

Alloway connections with Heady, Stillwell, Throckmorton, Goodwin(e)

Oard  VA, MD?, OH, CO Looking for a William Oard who married Fanny Barnes, [A dead end for me].

Bradley, Sylvester VT or NH, OH, MI born abt 1821  Sylvester was the son of Seth and Ruth Bradley of Coos Co., NH and later (1840, 1850) from around Rochester, NY.  Seth was the son of an English schoolmaster who lived in Coos Co., NH before 1800 named John.

Gray, Lewis TN MO died in Civil War, born 1830 +/-10 yrs. Married Rhoda Jackson [A dead end for me, but probably the son of William Gray and a Lebow of Grainger and Hawkins Co., TN]

Jackson, Milton NC TN MO  apparently married Elizabeth Anderson.  He lived in Knox Co., TN and was a member of the Mt. Hebron Primitive Baptist Church from about 1830 until they left for MO in the mid 1850s.  He appears to be the son of Henry Jackson of NC and Knox Co., TN.

Walker ENG PA MI William Walker of Jackson, MI and his wife Louisa Marks.  Thomas was Louisa's father, and was descended from the Marks of Höchst, Hesse in the Odenwald of Germany near Darmstadt.  Thomas' grandfather was a Hessen mercenary who emigrated in 1785 and settled in PA.  I will be doing more work on the German ancestry.  So far nothing on Thomas' maternal lines.  His wife was Sarah Stratton, her father David Stratton of PA, but nothing more is known.  Some pictures of the Marks.

English families

My wife's New Mexican Hispanic family

Snakes
I currently have a five year old corn snake, and a four old female corn snake.  They produce about a dozen offspring every year.  Some of these are normal, some are snows, some lack the red, and some are albinos..  Herp dealers.  I'm also interested in indigo and northern pine snakes.

Bees
Here is a good site for linking to others.
I lost my bees a few years ago due to a hard winter and mites.  I hope to keep bees again someday.
