Sale or Adoption?
Sale: Sale means the horse is sold with no adoption agreement. The horse can be resold later of the buyer chooses. It is a traditional sale, except that we also want to make sure the home is a good one and that they can handle the horse that they choose, to give the relationship the best possible chance for the horse and the buyer. We will not sell a horse to any person that we feel with clash with the horse and we do not sell to people that we feel will not provide the care that the horse needs. We have this right, and we regularly exercise it.

*Sale horses are NOT rescues. They are being sold to raise money for the rescue, to pay for the others that lose so much money and keep the facility going. Without these, we would go under fast. We get no grants and very few donations. Every rescue has to be able to finance what they do somehow, this is how we have managed to do it. It not only finances the rescue, but provides a service to our clients when they need to rehome a horse. (And it is tax deductible too!)

Adoption: An adoption is an agreement with a qualified person to provide a permanent home for a horse. A qualified person is one who has a history of good horse care, facilities to properly care for a horse and who gets along with the horse. (Can ride and handle it.) We check vet, farrier and other references. These is an adoption agreement and that horse can never be resold. He can be donated back to the rescue if the adopter ever cannot keep him. Also see Adoption Requirements

*Some adoptions are rescues, some are not. Owners that donate horses typically specify if they want the horse sold to raise more money or adopted. Some of these horses came from a wonderful home that just could not keep them. We typically charge less for adoptions, but a super nice horse will still bring alot more of an adoption fee. There is no set maximum on adoption fees. They are based on a less than retail value for the horse in question.
Note:
*We accept cash and PayPal (PayPal is 3% extra) only except in special situations. (Checks are still accepted for donations.)
*We do not hold horses or prices for people who have chosen not to place a deposit. If you come back a week later, a month later or a year later, we cannot gaurantee that we wil even still have a certain horse, more less that the price will be the same. Prices are subject to change for a variety of reasons, (this is with any business) including market changes, training or just finding out a horse is worth far more than we thought. We also reduce prices for a variety of reasons. (Of course, we will never change a price on a person who has already set an appointment, until after they have come to their appointment and had a chance to buy/adopt the horse at the agreed upon price.) We try to be fair, but we must also keep the doors of this rescue open. That means bringing money in, since we get no grants and very few donations.
*Please bring any trailer EXCEPT a 1 horse or a 2 horse side-by-side trailer to pick up your horse. (Stock or slant loads are fine.) We have no way to know if any of these horses will load into such a trailer, and it is not fair to expect us or the horse to spend an hour or two with it when they are picked up. After you get them home, you are welcome to use any trailer you prefer. Any trailer must also have some sort of safe footing (ie no boards with several inch gaps between them, mats are much safer) and be in safe condition.
