Welcome to Auburn St. Benedict, Divernon Sacred Heart, and Waverly St. Sebastian Parishes! We are the Catholic Christian People of God in this little part of the world. We are thankful for the Good News of Jesus, which has changed our lives for the better and continues to form us into a peaceful and courageous people, as we seek to live according to the command of love.
Auburn St. Benedict Church is located at Washington and Auburn. Divernon Sacred Heart Church is located at 220 South Lincoln. Waverly St. Sebastian Church is located at 265 East Elm.

If you are new to the parishes, or otherwise still getting oriented, please take a WELCOME PACKET, available at the literature rack/shelf of each church. It contains census forms for registering in the parish, and a few other things.

DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN? Any person who wants to do this should find out what the local Catholic parish is and seek assistance from the personnel there. Infant baptism: Fr. Kevin will conduct a preparation session with the parents before a baptism is scheduled. Baptism is not celebrated during Lent (except for emergencies). The complete text of the parish infant baptism preparation policy can be found here.
Marriage: The Diocesan Marriage Preparation Policy calls for six months' notice for the sake of necessary pastoral preparations. Complete information on marriage preparation can be found here.
Ask Fr. Kevin about: Christian initiation of children and adults; tribunal matters (declaration of freedom to enter a new marriage in the Catholic Church); and Communion calls.

Scheduling appointments with Fr. Kevin: This can be done after every Eucharist at which he presides. He always has his appointment book with him. Or just mail Father Kevin Laughery.
Mass intentions: Requests for Mass intentions must be received by the Office of the Parishes three weeks in advance of requested date in order to allow time for scheduling and printing in The Prairie Dawning.
