The Scarlet Pimpernel
- September 2000 Online Auction
Information and Rules:
- By bidding on any item in the auction (see below for instructions) you agree to abide by
all the rules listed for this auction. If you have any question regarding these rules,
e-mail TPC98@aol.com.
- If you wish to bid on any of the items listed in the auction please send an e-mail bid,
at or above the item's minimum bid, to TPC98@aol.com.
- Internet bidding on all auction items will run from the day/time this auction is announced
to be "open" on
the internet through Wednesday, Sept.27 at 8pm eastern time, USA.
- All bids must be in whole dollar figures. TPC requests that bidders
not use round figures in order to decrease the chance of tie bids. Ex:
bid $407 instead of $400.
- Any bidder may bid as often as s/he wishes on as many items as s/he wishes.
- In the "subject heading" of your e-mail bid please be specific about what item
you are bidding on: "bid on Holiday Ornaments - Douglas Sills," or
"Li'l League Romper 24months," etc. Please use the
full item description - don't write just "bid on romper," for example, because
there is more than one romper lot in the auction.
- You can send as many e-mail bids as you like, but do not include more than one
bid for one item in each e-mail.
- Each new bid must be at least $1 more than the prior posted bid.
- In the body of each e-mail message, please write three things: your e-mail address,
the item you are bidding on, and the dollar amount of your bid. TPC will
disregard e-mail messages that do not contain all three of these items.
- Your initial bid will not be privately acknowledged. If your initial bid happens to
become the new high bid for the item you bid on, you will see your bid amount as the
"current high bid" amount for the item in question on the next auction update
post. You are responsible for keeping track of all your own bids.
- I will post auction updates (detailing the new high bids for all auction lots)
six times during
this auction: each evening starting Sept. 21, through the evening of
Sept. 26. The auction updates will be posted to the Scarlet
Pimpernel Message Board. The board can be found here.
- There will be no auction updates after the post
of Sept. 26. The
next public announcement will be of the winning bids for all auction
lots, which will be posted after the end of the auction.
- Only the single highest bid (at any one time) will be announced for
the lots that contain duplicate packages (for example, the Li'l League
Romper - 24months) However, at the end of the auction,
I will announce the amounts for all the winning bids for the duplicate
packages in that lot.
- TPC is the final arbiter of any dispute regarding any bid issue.
- TPC, in its capacity of
arbiter, reserves the right to reject or void bids it deems are not made in good faith.
- TPC is not responsible for bids that, for any reason whatsoever, are not received at the
TPC98@aol.com address. TPC is not
responsible for bids that, for reasons of internet technology, are not received
into the TPC98@aol.com mailbox by
8pm eastern time on Wednesday, Sept. 27.. Any bid received
after 8pm eastern time on Sept. 27 will be disregarded.
- TPC will also mail out, some time prior to midnight on Sept. 27, individual e-mails to winning bidders confirming the
winning bid amount. Details of payment will be confirmed at that time.
Winning bidders will be required to send to TPC his/her legal name,
his/her address, and payment information. Please note that BC/EFA will accept money orders, personal checks,
AmEx, Visa, or MasterCard.
- After all private e-mails to winning bidders are sent out, TPC will
post the final auction update to the Scarlet Pimpernel Message Board. This
post will list only the final (winning) bid amounts on all
auction items. This document will not identify winner bidders either by legal name
or e-mail name.
