The idea of making fine art on a computer is an oxymoron. Fine Art and Computers have had a long fueding relationship for many years, sort of like the family in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Fine Art and Photography have had similar differences for more than 100 years. So I understand when someone has a problem with my classifying what I do as Fine Art. For me as an artist - I've painted for many years - the computer offers an alternative route to artistic expression. It's just a matter of mastering your tools, whether brush and pallette or keyboard and mouse. - Stan

The Florida Keys are very dog friendly. Almost every house on our street has at least
one dog. Dogs make fantastic subjects for portrature, they are so unabashedly
expressive. Here are Zeus and Gaia and some friends and aquaintences who have
gracefully allowed me to try to capture their images. I have printed their images only
after I first morphed their features and colors in ways I feel enhance their inate
expressiveness without trying for photographic exactness. Dogs make great art.

I often have dreams where I'm looking at pictures in a book and, to my amazement,
the figures in the picture begin to move. Capturing the feeling of movement in a still
image is one of my passions. Digital Panoramic Photography has given me the vehicle to
accomplish the seemingly impossible. Armed with a tripod and my motorized Nikon film camera, I
expose up to 5 images a second of my subject in motion. Back home, I develop the negatives and scan them into my computer where I combine them using custom software I developed for this purpose.
Although creating motion pans is time consuming, I think the results are worth the
effort. I hope you agree. - Stan

Kids make the best moving subjects. They're moving all the time. They move so much that they can appear to be in two places at once. Or more. We're blessed in having six grandkids who make great photographic subjects. - Stan
