I'm Steve. I have an N gauge model train layout, which a professional detailer, Dave Morse, helped me set up. I've built a lot of dioramas for the layout from scratch. (My latest one is a baseball field behind the high school.) A number of people have contributed to the layout: my grandchildren help me on the detail decorations; my kids buy kits and other items for me to assemble; my lovely wife, Stephanie, comes up with a number of great ideas for me to build; and my dogs supervise all my work from beneath the table on which the layout rests. Friends have been very supportive of our work on the train layout.

My layout is 18 foot by 8 foot on quarter-inch benchwork. I currently have 115 engines, of which 48 have computer chips and are controlled by a Digitrax system, plus 11 passenger engines and 415 rolling stock. The layout has 3 main lines, a trainyard with 9 parallel tracks, and 66 switches, which are electronically controlled.

The layout also has a 3-1/2 foot mountain, a working carnival with 6 rides, and assorted German, Japanese, and U.S. animations.
