BOARD
Community Service Mounted is a unique, if not "elite" unit. The men and women of ComServ equestrian division perform the usual search and rescue, parade, and public relations work assigned to mounted patrols throughout the organization. But a substantial number of this unit have trained and qualified for national mounted law enforcement certification. Additionally, the ComServ Mounted are involved in the development of standards and formal training programs for mounted posse, heretofore non-existent in the MCSO Posse organization.
In addition to routine mounted details this unit is prepared to go anywhere the office request, and can perform law enforcement functions such as crowd control, V.I.P. or vehicle extraction form crowds or mobs, traffic enforcement, pursuit and arrest from horseback, as well as security and escort for public officials and celebrities. Animals and riders train to be prepared for various terrain and a variety of responsibilities including those in high risk situations.
Our mission as we see it is to extend the capabilities of the office into areas where motor vehicles and possemen on foot patrol lose effectively.
Our motto is "TO RIDE AND TO SERVE"
