"New Beginnings"
Welcome To . . .
"A New Beginning"
"If there's not the possibility of failure . . . then there's not the possibility of faith"

A Little About Me . . .

Welcome, and thanks for visiting my "New Beginnings" Home Page.

My name is Sue, and I live in Southern California with my husband Mike, our son Alex, and our dog Max.  We moved here from Michigan about 6 years ago to be closer to our family.
We really love it out here.
For the first  3-1/2 years we were out here, I was a Regional Fitness Manager for a local chain of women's health clubs.  I loved my job, but 2-1/2 years ago, I  had to step out of that position.  We're told that when God closes one door, he opens up another . . . and He has sure opened up quite a few of those "new doors"  for both me and my husband.
I am still very much involved in women's health and fitness, though.  I have been able to lecture at local hospitals and several women's groups in the area.   I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer, and I also teach group exercise classes.  I feel very fortunate to be able to continue to do what I really love.
My husband and I are members of Saddleback Church (if you're from the Southern California area, you know the one).   It's the second largest Christian church in the U.S.   We feel very blessed to be a part of this visionary church.  And now, because I am not working such long hours anymore, I have been able to become more involved in our church . . . in  one of our women's ministries, and in our New Believers ministry, callled "Fresh Start With God."  I have also been able to earn credits towards a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, a program offered through Saddleback.  If you take some time to browse through my pages, you'll see that I love to share my faith, too.
But of  all the "new doors" the Lord has opened . . . the most precious one of all is our son Alex.  Mike and I began our certification to become licensed Foster/Adoptive parents shortly after my job changed, and almost two years ago we brought Alex home to live with us.  We finalized his adoption in January, 2002.  What a blessing!  Alex has some special needs, and a very, very special heart.  He is such an inspiration to us!  I can't help but count my many blessings every day.  Please browse through the devotionals and inspirations.  I plan to continue to add on and up-date regularly, so please "bookmark" the page, and check back.  Also, please feel free to forward my address to anyone you think might enjoy the devotionals, too - I would love that!
