MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE

MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE
©almezzina 9/9/02

No special place that I can choose:
I like the track when I don't lose;
a football game if I won't freeze;
a sunny beach with a light breeze;
a quiet place where I might dine
with talk that's good and a fine wine.

But should you ask, I choose the best,
my favorite among the rest?",
I must say anywhere at all,
at any time, winter through fall.
As long as I would always be
surrounded by my family.

MY FAVORITE PLACE

My favorite place to be
is a library.
Over the years
I've managed to amass
a small one of my own.
A billion words or so;
a wealth of knowledge,
if I could but understand.
I try.
I fail.
I try again.

My Favorite Place To Be

I have traveled quite a lot
Around this good old USA.
I have enjoyed the many places
Where I would often stay.

Each locale was of great interest
And had its own special appeal -
Places I had only read about,
Some whose beauty was unreal.

After a time I would have my fill,
No longer did I desire to roam.
My thoughts became focused on
How good to be back home.

"Home is where the heart is"
So says my sampler on the wall.
For me there is no truer saying.
It's my favorite place to be, after all.

My Favorite Place(s)

City lights
Sparkling bright,
Inviting me
To come and see.

An exciting thrill
For a country girl,
Calling me to do
Things I've wanted to:

See the shows--
They dance on their toes--,
Wear costumes bright,
A wonderful sight!

Buildings so high,
Nearly touch the sky,
Outlined in lights,
Colored and white.

No matter where they are,
City lights, near or far,
Make a wonderland for me--
That's a place I love to be.

MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE

My favorite place is it a state
Of being, of time, of space...
Somewhere in my yesterdays
When I did not know what I must face?
Is it a time before innocence lost
A state of mind not knowing the costs
Nor the twists and turns of life's race?
My favorite place to be, how can I tell
So much of this life has been heaven and hell....
So Sweetheart, when I am in harms way,
Please forever hold me, in your arms let me stay.
And surely I will someday figure out what is for me...
But forever with you is my favorite place to be.
