





















Welcome to my personal home page for Adventureland, located in East Farmingdale, New York. Adventureland opened in 1962 and has grown to become a small family amusement park.

This is a cartoon map of Adventureland that I created. It was originally created in 1996, but I have modified it in two ways-for 2003 and for 1995. The image displayed above is the 2003 version, but when you put your cursor over the map, it will change to the 1995 version. When you pull your cursor away, it will return to the 2003 version. This way you can see how the park has changed during the past seven years. Please remember that this page must be fully loaded before the effect can work. - 1973 Galaxy opens
- 1974 Wave Swings opens
- 1975 Enterprise opens
- 1978 The park's name is changed to "Adventureland"
- 1978 Chaparrel Horseless Carriage opens, name later changed to Antique Cars
- 1980 The Lost Continent a.k.a. Haunted Cave dark ride opens
- 1980 Black Hole opens
- 1982 Looping Star opens
- 1983 Capt. Willy's Wild Waters opens
- 1984 Gravitron opens
- 1986 The Haunted Cave is rethemed as 1313 Cemetary Way
- 1986 The park is shown in the movie "Sweet Liberty" starring Alan Alda and Michael Caine
- 1986 The park is shown in Chaka Kahn's music video "Love Of a Lifetime"
- 1987 Pirates Plaza area of the park, Pirate Ship, & Scorpion open
- 1988 Treasure Island Miniature Golf Course opens
- 1990 Galaxy closes
- 1991 Hurricane opens, the first "Windstorm" coaster in the USA
- 1991 Adventureland's sister park, Splish Splash, opens
- 1993 Surf Dance opens, the first "Super Nova" ride to operate in the USA
- 1999 Adventureland's third park, Bullwinkles, opens
- 1999 Bullwinkles and Splish Splash are both sold
- 2000 Paul Bunyan Express opens, name changed to Ladybug Coaster in 2001
- 2001 Adventure Falls opens
- 2001 Looping Star closes
- 2002 Top Scan opens
- 2002 Kiddie Boats, the last original attraction from 1962, closes
- 2003 Crocodile Run opens, the second "Wild Water Rondell" ride in the USA
- 2004 John Silver's Hip Hop opens, the first ride of its type to operate
- 2005 Surf Dance & Top Scan close
- 2007 The park is shown in the movie "Music & Lyrics" starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore
