Miniature Golf Courses

This is Adventureland's now defunct Treasure Island Mini Golf Course.

Miniature golf courses can be found all over, sometimes at an amusement park, at an FEC, at a local park, or on their own. Sometimes there are multiple courses at one location, sometimes just one course. Many are themed, usually with waterfalls and rocks, and some have treasure hunts. This is a list of many of the miniature golf courses I have played at.

Miniature Golfs that stand alone, at a local park, or at an FEC.

Observation Towers

Observation towers are typically a slow ride in a cabin (or elevator up to a stationary platform) to near the top of a tower for a scenic view of the park property and surrounding area. Great for picture taking! These are the ones that I've experienced.

Train Rides

Train rides at a park are typically used for a tour of the park, as transportation to different areas of a park, or simply for fun as a classic ride. I always ride a park's train whenever I have the chance.

Monorails

Once thought of as the trains of the future (and some, such as myself, still believe it!), monorails are an efficient way of transportation and providing scenic trips around a park.

Skyrides

Once a popular ride, many of have sadly been removed in recent years. Some still remain, still providing a scenic trip accross a park on a cable high in the sky.

Go-Kart Tracks

Go-Karts are a popular attraction nowadays. Many miniature golf courses, amusement parks, FECS, and stand alone places operate a go-kart track or two. These are ones that I have been to.

Simulators

The Right Stuff

This is Six Flags Great Adventure's The Right Stuff: Mach One Adventure during its first run from 1994-1998.

Simulators are a type of "ride" in which the audience lives an adventure that doesn't exist. They watch a movie screen and the theater that they sit in moves in syncronization with the movements of the movie being shown. The theater never actually goes anywhere, just moves up and down and side to side to simulate movement being shown on the screen. Some may have added real life effects such as water being sprayed on the riders during a splash sequence on the screen. Simulators were popular in the late '80s and early '90s but seem to have dropped in popularity in recent years. Some of them are quite fun, while others are very poorly made. Arguably the best simulator ever created was Back To the Future: The Ride, which can be found at any of the 3 Universal Studios theme parks (Florida, Hollywood and Japan). This is a list of simulators I have ridden.

Rock Walls

This is Adventureland's Rock Wall Of Adventure.

A more recent popular attraction at parks and FECs are rock climbing walls. Some or small and some are larger, often a wall will have more than one level of difficulty. I've only done one so far, there's usually an extra charge at parks.

Boat Tag

A now fairly rare amusment is Boat Tag. One or two riders get into an enclosed boat. Each rider is euqipped to control a gun full of tennis balls which he or she can shoot at other boats or at spectators, who also control a gun of tennis balls.
