This is the story of how I acquired my dedicated TimePilot game. One Saturday (June
or July of 1999) my best friend Wade gave me a call and told me about a video
game some guy had out in his front yard with a forsale sign on it. I don't remember
if he had told me the name of the game or not but I jumped in my truck and
you would have thought I was on the NASCAR track. I picked Wade up and we went
to where the game was. It was a dedicated TimePilot and looked like it was in
pretty good condition but the guy said it did not work. He was asking $100.00
for it and as I was handing him the money someone else in a truck pulled up and
wanted to know how much for the game. I smiled and said sorry I just bought it.:-)
He could not find the right keys for the game so I had to wait till I got
home to look inside. Turns out the coin box was full of pennies. I should have
counted them to see how much was there but I never did. After looking around inside
the game I saw the switcher power supply had a meltdown and looked like it
almost caught fire. I put a new power supply in and the game came to life and
played great. I got a NOS marquee as the paint on the back was flaking off and
also a NOS control panel overlay. The game needs a little cosmetic help but it
has made a great addition to my collection. Just need's some TLC. Below are a
few pictures of my TimePilot. |
