Autocross:

Autocross is a form of motorsports that emphasizes safe, low-cost competition and active participation. An autocross is a timed competition where drivers navigate one at a time through a temporary course marked by traffic cones, rather than racing on a track with multiple other cars, as in road racing or oval racing. Autocross tends to place more emphasis on car handling and driver skill than on sheer horsepower, and events typically have many classes which allow almost any vehicle, from economy sedans to purpose-built vehicles, to compete. Speeds are slower in absolute terms when compared to other forms of motorsports, usually not exceeding highway speeds, but the activity level (measured in discrete turns per minute) can be higher than even Formula One due to the large number of elements packed into each course. Autocross courses are typically 40 to 70 seconds in length. In addition to being a national-level motorsport in its own right, autocrossing is a good way to learn skills that transfer to road racing, as drivers learn vehicle control and club ethics. NOTE: All participating vehicles must the street registered and have a valid state inspection sticker.

Directions: Devens Commerce Center, Ayer MA

From either direction from I-495 take exit 30 (2A/110) and turn toward Ayer (that's to the NW).
From either direction, you will make a left turn onto Rt 2A.

Follow 2A all the way to the Devens Commerce Center entrance.

You will go through a rotary about 5 mi from I-495.
Continue on 2A which is the second exit in the rotary (straight across, just past the McDonalds).

You will then go about 1 mile and be in the center of downtown Ayer. 2A will take a right turn just past the main business district; there will be a Mobil station on your left at that corner.

Travel about 1/2 mile.
About 3/10s of a mile after Dunkin Donuts (and just past a power transfer station), take a left onto Bishop Road.

After the cemetery (on left) go through the first gate.
About 1/2 a mile after this gate, bear right at the 'Y', then turn right at the 4-way intersection, and proceed up the hill, through the gate.
This will take you on to the site.

Stop at the gate to sign the waiver and get a wrist band.

Directions: Doc's Sports Bar and Grille

Coming from the north, take Rte 495 south to exit 19.
Take a right at the bottom of the exit ramp.
You will now be on Rte 109 heading west.
Take an immediate right after the Burger King,
less than 1/4 of a mile after the exit.
Follow this road for 1/2 of a mile until the next set of lights.
Take a left at the lights.
Doc's is 1/4 of a mile on your right, (on Rte 16 west).

We will continue to meet the Wednesday after the 2nd Monday of the month.
Meetings start at 7:30 PM
