Kidney/Pancreas Mode

The hospital I am working with is a wonderful teaching hospital called MUSC, Medical University of South Carolina. My Kidney doctor is Dr. Richard Paul and my nurse is Lisa Hotchkiss. The transplant surgeon I'm seeing is Dr. Bunke. they are all great.

I need to have a lot of tests done. If I show any signs of cancer I will not be accepted to the transplant program. so far so good.

I have all my scheduled tests for June 18, 1998. We're trying to get all the tests in in one day.

I've had many fears about what's going on with my body. I was all set for dialysis before anyone in my family. I really think subconsciously I knew what was happening. My mother kept telling me not to jump ahead of things when I said I'd be going on dialysis.I was afraid of dialysis. I was afraid of dying. If you could of seen my families faces when I came home from the kidney Doctor and told them I had surgery the next day.

You got to understand, if your going to be sick you need a family like mine. My husband will do anything and help in anyway but he won't tolerate self pity. He just wants to up my life insurance when I get a case of the self pity's. I have a mother who will cancel or drop everything to be with me. I have 2, 15 year olds. On will be a great EMT or Dr. himself. He has helped Doctors in emergency rooms or the EMT when they have been called here. If your going to be sick, you need my family.

I am very appreciative of the internet. I was so sick and so scared when all this was going on. I searched kidney failure and transplants and diabetes. My husband got into some chats and met some wonderful people who have been there, done that and are doing great. They all calmed us so much.

It's a long process but I will keep you updated as things are done and results are in.
