My WorldConnect database is back. My husband's has been updated. Birth and marriage info is included, but sources and census, baptism, death, immigration and other info can be sent via gedcom. Be sure to confirm origins and accuracy of information before incorporating it into your own database! I make mistakes.

Sites of Personal Interest to Me Danville, St. Isidore Church, and San Ramon Valley High School I studied linguistics at U.C. Berkeley (see also SLUG) and switched to Germanic linguistics for grad school. (I met my husband at the Bears' Lair, while preparing German lesson plans.) I taught German for 10 years, first at U.C. Berkeley and later at USF. If you were in one of my classes, email me and let me know how you're doing! My name then was Theresa (Terri) Hawkins. Taught Business English in Frankfurt (FIW and Volkshochschule) during a year off from grad school and conversational English to speakers of Korean. If you miss Berkeley, you can read the Daily Cal online, shop at Moe's, or check out the California Alumni Association (Go Bears!!)
Worked at Berkeley Speech Technologies until it was acquired by Lernout and Hauspie Speech Products and stayed until 1998. Came back as a consultant through the end of 1999. BST's BestSpeech synthetic speech was used in older versions of a few of these hand-held talking translators and other products and applications. My teams and I collected acoustic data in 1998 and 1999 for the Latin American Spanish Version of L&H Voice Xpress™. L&H's language technology was acquired by ScanSoft. I joined the team at Enuncia Communications in 2000, but the company let most of us go at year's end. Our son was born the following June. Now I'm enjoying the most rewarding work of all: raising my little boy.
