The first performance of YES. NO. AND YELLOW was March 5, 1976 at Direct Theatre, W. 43rd Street, New York, directed by Dennis Logan Schneider. Bill E. Davis was Mr. Baker, Jo Ann Muchmore was Mrs. Baker, Ronald Gilbert was Malcolm, and Barry Theiler was Jonathan. Peter Exline and Chris Cara were Stage Managers. The writing is interesting, and Tom White succeeds in getting us to understand a man who is unable to speak. Audrey Wood I enjoyed the play. Beckett in color for once. Whatever makes an audience THINK (as we all must, if were to figure out Mr. Baker) nearly always works like a charm. James Merrill |
