RELEASE NOTES: TAXIshop Version 4.0 (06/12/01)

This TAXIshop Upgrade introduces a number of powerful new features. Including...

TAXIshop's VirtualCatalogs let you browse or search for the supplies you need in your shop.  Create "one-click" Purchase Orders that can be sent to your favorite suppliers in a variety of ways.

TAXIshop's all new MannikinSearch feature uses your order's measurements and other order details to locate the mannikins that are just right for the project at hand. Double click on any catalog item to see VirtualCatalog details or highlight the item to add it to a handy ShoppingList.

Regular VirtualCatalog Update CD's are also planned for the future and will be available on a somewhat annual basis at a nominal charge.   Participating suppliers currently include:

Ben Mears Taxidermy Supply, Joe Coombs Classics, Matt Thompson Taxidermy Supply, McKenzie Taxidermy Supply, Mike Noonkester Taxidermy Supply, New Wave Taxidermy Supply, Van Dyke's Taxidermy Supply, WASCO, and Dan Rinehart's Whitetail Specialists.  Watch for more suppliers participating in the future.

In the meantime, you can always enter your own favorite suppliers and the catalog items that you regularly use in your shop.  These items will then be available for easy selection and ordering from within your personalized TAXIshop system.

IMPORTANT! If your favorite supplier is not currently participating in TAXIshop's VitualCatalog system, please call them and let them know that "you'd like to see their products available from within your TAXIshop system!" Please also be sure to thank the suppliers who are participating and let them know you like seeing their products in TAXIshop.

As requested by a number of TAXIshop users, the account info section of the order form has been re-designed and greatly expanded to give you more flexibility and options. You can now add specific details or descriptions for any order transaction.

An all new Transaction Details Form lets you specify whether a deposit or payment was made by Cash, Check, or Credit Card. Then, depending on the method of payment selected, you can also record your customer's check number, or credit card company, account number and credit card expiration date. Label Extra Charges with descriptions and details like... Walnut Panel, Glass Case, and Shipping. You can also indicate if the extra charge is subject to sales tax or not.

If automatic Tax Calculations are enabled, TAXIshop will now compute sales tax on the entire taxable sub-total for each order; including any Extra Charges marked as Taxable. The Sales Tax Reports have also been re-designed to incorporate these changes.

New Price List Features... Some users have reported that they would like to enter a variety of Job Category, Specie and Pose combinations in the Price List Form to take advantage of TAXIshop's Auto-Pricing Feature but don't want all of these different combinations to print out on the Price List. When entering prices, you may now indicate whether you want the item to appear on the price list or not.

RELEASE NOTES: TAXIshop Version 3.1 (10/8/99)... Version 3.1a (1/2/00)... Version 3.1b (4/5/00)

These TAXIshop updates add a number of new enhancements and user requested features.  Including...

Multiple Customer Letters and Form Letters!  Now Create and Save your customer letters and form letters by name, and include a short description of each letter's contents.  Store your letter in your own Custom Correspondence Library for later one-click selection, personalization, and printing.

Automatic City Selection!  Tired of typing in the same city names over and over?  TAXIshop now samples the cities you've already entered into your system, and then presents those cities in a convenient drop down list for easy selection and entry.

New Job Number Field!  Because of the flexibility provided by the Tag Number, added in TAXIshop Version 3.0b, we've just added another new field to the Order Form.  Like the Tag Number, the new Job Number can be used, in any way you like, to link orders in a variety of ways.  Access those Orders with the View/Print Selected Orders Button on the Main Menu.  Custom Reports, based on your use of these two new fields, are available to suit your needs.  Please contact the author for details.

Selected TAXIshop Version 3.1 systems will include a fully integrated Inventory Tracking and Control System for "in the field" testing, user feedback and suggestions.  The system will include automatic Reorder Quantities, Tracking of Supplies from your shop's Inventory to each order, and a Virtual Catalog of the suppliers and supplies that you use in your shop.

Please contact the author, or  indicate on your TAXIshop Order Form, if you would like to participate in the testing of these new features.

RELEASE NOTES: TAXIshop Version 3.0b (8/10/99)

This update adds a new TAG NO. to the Order Form. The Tag No may be used to link an order or specimen to a tanning batch, wholesale job, project, or larger shipment.  These Orders may then be accessed by the Tag No. you assign, via the View/Print Selected Order Buttons on the Main Menu.

Specimen Measurements may now be entered with decimals or fractions! Use whichever is the most convenient for you. Additional bird measurements are now also available.

Blank Envelopes can now be printed from the Blank Forms Utility as a result of User requests.

RELEASE NOTES: TAXIshop version 3.0a (5/17/99)

This update adds a new BLANK FORMS BUTTON to the Utilities Menu which can be used to Print Blank Work Orders, Shop Work Orders.  These blank forms can be used in your shop, filled out by hand, and the information entered into your TAXIshop system at a later date or time.  You can also print Blank Stationary with your Shop's Letterhead.

This update also changes how some information is displayed on some of TAXIshop's Forms and Reports and corrects a "COMPILE ERROR" that some users received in the first few releases of Version 3.0.

RELEASE NOTES: TAXIshop version 3.0 (5/14/99)

This all new upgrade of TAXIshop adds a number of brand new features and options related to Sales Taxes, Order Details and Automatic Order Pricing. 

These new features and options come as a result of user requests and suggestions and my continuing effort to make TAXIshop more flexible and more productive in your shop.

A number of NEW SALES TAX SETUP OPTIONS are now available.

CAUTION! Because Sales Taxes can be collected and assessed in many different ways by various state, county and other taxing bodies, some of these features may not be appropriate for your particular Sales Tax situation. Please consult with your accountant and/or taxing authorities, and be sure to read the pop-up "warning" and "more info" screens on the Sales Tax Set-Up Form before enabling features, or making any entries or selections.

NEW DROP-DOWN LISTS are now provided to let you Select an Order's Category, Species and Pose. New Categories, Species, and Poses can be created "on the fly" when entering new orders, or via the Price List Form, by entering them directly. New Items are automatically added to the appropriate selection list. Items that are no longer desired can be deleted from your selection lists via the Utilities Menu.

Version 3.0 now provides the option of AUTOMATED ORDER PRICING. Enter or Select a Category, Species and Pose... add an appropriate price via the Price List Form, and TAXIshop will automatically fill in the amount column when you select "Quoted Price" as an Order Transaction if the Order's Category, Species, and Pose match an entry in your current Price List.

PREVIOUS RELEASE NOTES: Version 2.0 thru 2.2d

VIEW/PRINT SELECTED ORDERS lets you pick the Search Criteria for the Order Report that you want to see! Click a few buttons on Friday afternoon to View Detailed Order Information or Print out a Report of all "Pending + Gameheads + Whitetails" or whatever you want to work on next week. Add a Completion Date to limit your search to only the Orders due by the end of this month. Your project planning and scheduling has never been easier!

Click ADD NEW PHOTOS on the Wildlife Reference Form for easy to follow pop-up instructions for adding your own favorite photos to the TAXIshop Reference Library. (You must be able to scan, or otherwise convert and save your photo to a Windows Bitmap File format (.BMP), and have space on your hard drive to store the image file.) 

TAXIshop NOW DOES TAXES! Just select TAX, from the Drop Down List in the Order Transaction Table, and enter the Amount. Then, at tax time, or quarterly or whenever, go to the Reports Menu where one click Prints a Tax Summary Report for any dates that you specify.

A brand new SHOP EXPENSE FORM lets you Enter Shop Expenses "Check-book Style" and then, from the Reports Menu, View or Print an Expense Report for any dates you desire.

CUSTOMER NOTES Just click the pop-up notebook icon to quickly record or refer to incidental customer notes or memos.

WILDCARD MATCH of Expanded Customer Status Field gives even more control in targeting personalized form letters, pre-printed envelopes and selected mailing labels.

The TAXIshop Setup program now installs two database MAINTENANCE UTILITIES in your TAXIshop Program Group.

These Utilities may be used, occasionally, to optimize performance and reduce the size of TAXIshop System and Data files. These maintenance Utilities can often be used to recover damaged or corrupted files caused by unexpected computer shutdowns or power losses.
