Now On Line - Cellsum.com - The Official Site!

The Brain Surgeons now (and once again) have an "Official" website - Cellsum.com - maintained by the band. This is good news because you will now be able to get the latest and greatest information direct from the source, and in a much more timely fashion. I hope in the future to use my site to have more audio samples, and less focus on news and tour dates. If you have not seen the official site yet, I suggest you got there first - the "Post-Op" is where you go after you let the Brain Surgeons operate on you!

To Billy Hilfiger and
Helen Wheels

Rest In Peace

With great sadness, we said goodbye to former Brain Surgeons and X Brothers guitarist Billy Hilfiger. While not as famous as his fashion designer brother, Billy left his signature from his guitar on several CDs and in countless live shows with tBS and Joe Bouchard's X Brothers (formerly known as the Cult Brothers). Billy passed away in September of 2001 after battling a brain tumor. His love for music and sense of humor will be missed by all of us.

Cellsum Recording artist, Helen Wheels passed away after complications following neck surgery in 2000. Helen is most known by tBS fans as a lyricist for several songs by The Brain Surgeons and Blue Oyster Cult:
  • Tattoo Vampire
  • St. Vitus Dance
  • Gun
  • If U Come Close
  • Competition
  • Sinful Love
  • Celestial the Queen
  • Nosferatu
  • Light Years of Love
Helen also released a CD, *Archetype* on Cellsum records, containing many of her recordings over the years. She was working on a new album, prior to her death following complications from neck surgery. She will be missed not only as an artist by those who heard her, but as a human being by all those who loved her.

The Brain Surgeons have recently completed a tribute CD to Helen, entitled "To Helen With Love" - containing recordings of past and unreleased songs written by her. Many talented artists besides the Brain Surgeons contributed to this CD, including Joe Bouchard, Buck Dharma, Sandy Roeser, Crispin Cioe, Jack Rigg, Tommy Mandel, Adny Schernoff, Ross The Boss, and members of Helen's band Skeleton Crew. Proceeds from the sale of this album will go to animal charities. If you can't find it in your local record store, order it from cellsum.com.
