Obituary

I don't regret a minute of the time spent on this site. As a result of my involvement I've written programme articles for away matches as well as home, been mentioned in the national press and made live reports on the radio. Spoken to the police on occasions, and fought off many abusive and libellous comments on the forum.

There have been, and still are, some fantastic people who support Hayes FC. Many are still about, but the majority are long gone, some never to return. To those that I have met over the years, be it in person or via the 'net, I offer my gratitude for brightening up my life. Thank you.

The football club had a great opportunity to move forward and mount an assault on the Football League. This was squandered scandalously by the current board and local council, and was not helped by the local MP, who did very little to secure the Minet site in my opinion, now a rubbish tip, being not much of a vote winner, unlike praising terrorists.

The club and council should get down on their knees and beg forgivness to Terry Brown for letting him down so badly, and forcing him to seek employment at a club where he could fulfill his ambitions.

This site ran for seven years. It gave almost one thousand pounds to the club in that time. It promoted the club worldwide at a time when the club didn't even promote it'self in Hayes. Yet never has it even had the common decency to officially comment on the site, neither good or bad.

Hayes Football Club has no future. The Hayes footballing public either go elsewhere or have moved away from the area. Of the ten or so regulars that were my companions on match days, none remain in Hayes. None will ever return on a regular basis. The people who replace us in the town are not likely to either.

Derek Goodall once metioned to me that we needed to be back in the Conference as soon as possible.

Still waiting Derek....
