From 1994 to 2000 I arranged and produced Tempola player piano rolls. This was a time consuming but a satisfying endeavor. Around Feb 2000, I was involved in a rather nasty and devastating divorce that was a financial train wreck, and my personal life was in shambles. Producing rolls at the time was no longer possible. I became overwhelmed, and frankly I didn't take care of the roll enterprise, as I should have, much to the dismay of my friends and customers. For that, I humbly apologize.

However, as my life slowly returned to normal, My love for Player pianos has returned. And I find myself desiring to do the things I love once again.

My love for Player Pianos goes back to my early childhood. In the parlor of our farmhouse stood a 1913 Foster & Co. art case player. The player did not work, and I often dreamed of getting it operational. In the meantime, I learned to play, at the age of 13 I became the church Pianist.

Upon first hearing a Player Piano, I knew that this would be a love for the rest of my life. I heard the great artists on my piano. And simply by watching the keys fall, I learned many things about playing.

I always wanted hear my own arrangement play on a Player Piano. I yearned to join the ranks of Confrey, Cook, Hi Babit, and countless others who's music filled my living room, A feat that I don't think I've quite yet mastered yet.

Then in 1994, I learned of Bill Jelen's BAM BAM player rolls. Upon hearing my work, Bill was interested. My dream came true and the rolls sold well, and I was forever hooked. When Bill Quit, I opened my own endeavor, Tempola Music Rolls LTD.

Tempola Music Rolls were made by Custom Music Rolls, In Richardson Texas. I understand that Richard is not in good health these days, Thank You, Richard and Janet. For making a dream come true. Even if for a few years. I had a blast! They have a great product, and reasonable prices. However, They had to slow down due to health reasons. And I'm going to really miss working with them. I wish them the very best, they are awesome people!

Whether or not I produce rolls again will depend upon if I can contract someone to do the production copies.

The word "Tempola" Simply comes from the Words "Tempo" and the suffix "Ola" it was a common practice for many Player builders to add the suffix 'Ola" in the name of their products. (Probably because Aeolian's "pianola" was so popular that 'Pianola" became the generic name for the player piano).
