We foster the profession of indexing by developing outreach programs for the community to learn about the value of indexes, and careers in indexing.

We custom-tailor our workshops and educational materials to meet the needs of our members.

We provide a local forum to enhance communication between indexers and clients using chat room technology. The Tennessee Regional Group's Chat Room is open 24 hours a day. Anyone, from any server, can participate.

We maintain a web site that features TennWords, our online newsletter. In TennWords, our members will find articles geared specifically toward their needs, the Answer Guru (a Q&A column), and tips.

We balance our web site content between the needs of our members. Some of our members are employed in corporate or academic environments, while others are self-employed.

We offer an online membership area, where members can list their specialities, experience, and education. It can be used as an additional marketing tool for indexers, and clients can browse the mini-resumes to help find the right indexer for their project.
