Criteria for Receiving Expense Funds from Texas Judo, Inc. for Travel to National Tournaments
In order to receive expense funds from Texas Judo, Inc. (TJI) you must meet certain criteria. The criteria outlined below is a guide to give the Texas judoka an understanding of what is required in order to be eligible for the funds and how to apply for available funding.
ELIGIBILITY: In order to be eligible for TJI funds you must meet four (4) requirements:
1. You must be a member of TJI before the state tournament in which you are competing begins. 2. You must be a member of a TJI member club and the club must have paid their dues for the year before the state tournament in which you are competing begins. 3. You must win first place in the division in which you are competing. 4. You must conduct yourself in accordance with the USJI Code of Ethics at the national tournament you attend.
APPLYING: In order to receive TJI funds you must meet two (2) requirements:
1. You must compete in the national tournament for which you placed first at the state level:
TJI State Junior Olympics - USJI Junior Olympics TJI State High School - USJI High School Nationals TJI State Collegiate - USJI National Collegiate TJI State Senior - USJI Senior Nationals TJI State Kata - USJI National Kata
2. You must send a letter to the TJI Treasurer within thirty (30) days after the completion of the national tournament in which you competed. Accompanying the letter should be proof that you attended the national event, to include: A letter from the designated Texas Coach stating you attended the event A copy of a hotel receipt or airline ticket A letter from the tournament director of the national event stating you were in attendance.
Please note that the TJI Board of Directors have authorized funding to USJI national events only. This does not include international events or those primarily sponsored by the USJF or USJA. |
