Although acting as Entry Rep, I very much regret not making any special arrangements. Blame longevity, infirmity, and to some extent a dearth of response from our ilk. However, press on regardless! We can at least combine with the Triennial Reunion on 22nd September, by meeting at the Entry Assembly Point in the Airfield hangar and there have a group photo taken to mark the occasion, spot on 11.00 hrs please. Then across to the catering hangar for noggins & nosh at the Entry table. If we can manage to stay together for the rest of the day, with the Entry ‘Totem’ as a rallying point, we could watch all the goings on at the Airfield, before perhaps attending the service at St George’s Church (wherein our Entry Window) or paying a visit to Schools. Then parade as a Senior Entry outside Workshops for the march, or coach, up to Henderson/Groves for the Sunset Ceremony. Finally, to say our farewells in the nearby Chiltern Club, or No.1 Wing Tank in days of yore.
Here are some reminders:
1. Disabled parking at the Airfield by prior arrangement with the RAFHAAAOffice, otherwise at the more remote Bakery Field. 2. Transport between venues for those unable to march, including myself. 3. Ladies should not attend the Airfield, unless acting as carers. 4. Our Entry History & Photo Albums are displayed in the Trenchard Museum, the former 1 & 2 Wings Drill Shed, which is open all day during the Triennial. 5. An article entitled “The 36th Entry - 70 Years On” should appear in the Summer Issue of ‘The Haltonian’ magazine.
Hope to see you there!
