GROWING UP WITH MONSTERS!
My Forgotten Prisoner Story
1974
My Stepfather was in the Navy and in January of 1974
he and the rest of my family were transferred to Puerto Rico.
Upon our arrival, we found that our housing wasn't ready yet.
(the folks living there hadn't moved out yet)
We were forced to live with a volunteer Navy family for
about two weeks.
I was miserable because I was home sick and I missed
my Grandparents so my Mom decided that she'd buy me
something to cheer me up.
While at the store I found The Forgotten Prisoner
of Castel Mare'.
(The only Aurora Monster in sight)

This Model kit is an Aurora Reissue

This was my very first Aurora Monster Model.
Having absolutely NO clue on how to put this thing together
(or paint it) my Stepfather put the thing together for me.

"Hey, this isn't as much fun as I thought it
was going to be!"

The poor Prisoner was never painted and it was one of
the items that was lost in the move upon our return back
to the states two years later.

(Sigh)

The Movie
Actually there never was a movie for this character but there certainly could have been.
If you're at all familiar with the Forgotten Prisoner, imagine the possibilities of a movie.
The concept of this character was actually a combined effort between Aurora and
Famous Monsters of Filmland.
The original instruction sheets for this model did have an origin printed for him and
if I'm ever able to track it down, I'll post it here.
