Here we are, almost in October and (believe it or not) I started
working on this kit, back in March.

At the time, I was really bummed out over the death of my
Uncle who introduced me to the hobby of building Monster
Models.
I was (in fact) so bummed out that I was actually considering
giving up this hobby.

Well, my Buddy Ringo wasn't having any of this nonsense of
me quitting.
He mailed me a box filled with model kits.
One of the kits in this box was the Creature.
He knew exactly what he was doing, there was no way that I
could give up modeling with this beautiful kit in my house.
For this, I want to publicly thank him.
Thanks, Man!

Because this figure had no base, I built one.
A kit that looks this good, deserves a base.
Rather than bore you all to tears, I'll just give a quick
run-down as to how this was done...

I started with the basic piece of wood that I picked up at a
"Michael's" craft store.
I formed the landscape with aluminum foil.
I then rolled out thin pieces of Magic Sculp and covered the
foil.
After it hardened, I gave it a quick coat of paint.
Next, I took a trip to the beach.
While at the beach, I collected sand, shells and rocks.
I glued the sand to the base and sealed it.
I then placed the shell and rocks in the desired areas and
glued them.
For the water effect, I purposely made the base floor curve
inward like a bowl but not as drastic.
Then, I just poured gloss varnish into the hollowed area and
it created a small pool.
This water is the main reason that it took so long for this kit
to be finished.
The varnish pours out white and it takes a LONG time
before it turns clear.

However, I liked the effect so much, I also used it on my
newest Wolfman kit.
