Hello and blessings to you all!
My name is Valerie aka "Thumper" De Leon. So how did I get that name? Well, I thump my feet when I'm happy, sad, nervous or mad. Originally a San Antonian, I'm now an Edmonite, sharing my den with my hubby "Shark" and my two little blessings, "Chicky-poo" and "Bubba-loo." I'm a home-schooling mom, loving the Christian life which is blessed by Our only Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I love the new life I have because of my Saviour Jesus Christ. He has led me to a wonderful church where I love to serve Him as I'm called to. I respect and honor the innocence of childhood, and so it seems that the Lord has blessed me with children's ministries. Children are precious little blessings from God and should be treated as such, with proper loving care and guidance to help them along life's way. I am also being led to various Spanish ministries, as I am bilingual.
Little tidbits: I love to attend ERBC church services and functions, Various ministries participation, Studying the Bible (KJV - only, of course), Fellowshipping with other Christians, Home-schooling, Arts & Crafts, Singing, Musicals, Opera, Fine Art, Board Games, Football (die-hard 49ers fan - boy, do I miss Montana :) ), Football card collecting - especially 49ers, Joe Montana memorabilia, Eating out, most of all, I love to spend time with my wonderful family and serving a wonderful God.

My Testimony
I was brought up in a "religous" home, attending a Catholic church and performing my "duties" as determined by man. I'm thankful for at least having been given some knowledge of God; however, that wasn't enough. As my life went on, I fell into worldly temptations, thinking I could just confess those sins to a mere mortal man and being "forgiven" by him. I was also sexually and verbally abused growing up. Being exposed to alcohol and even some drugs, I tried to find solace to my pain in them. All the while, I never knew my only answer to all of my problems was always there (in the world's ONLY Saviour Jesus Christ). The sad thing is, is that I would pray to God every night; but I would for death. Well, thank God for "unanswered" prayers. I made it through High School, and during my first year of college, I married my God-sent soul mate, my childhood sweetheart, Mark. Soon after, we had our two chidren. During this time, God was leading us to the perfect place and time when I would come to see how much I truly needed Him in my life. I found that God never wanted me to die, instead He wants me to live forever with Him in Heaven. All this time I thought He didn't love me because He wouldn't let ME die. Just the opposite, He loves me so much that He sent His only Son, the sinless JESUS CHRIST to die for ME and MY sins. Jesus came to die on the cross for ME. Why? Because if He didn't, I could NEVER on MY OWN get to Heaven. Why not? Because of my SINS. You see, as much as God loves ME, He hates my SINS. Being a perfect, loving and ALL HOLY God, sin cannot be in his presence. So sin was what was keeping me from Him. The bad thing about sin is that it deserves punishment. You see, "for the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE..."

How I Received Eternal Life
Only, "through JESUS CHRIST, our Lord." So on March 7, 1999 at 8 p.m., I called upon the name of the Lord. Realizing that I was a lost sinner on my way to Hell for all eternity because of my sins, I asked Jesus Christ to save me from my sins and to come into my life. And since then, I have a blessed assurance of going to Heaven. My husband and children have also been saved. What a blessing! My life is now wonderful! I have been set free from my past and am looking forward with great peace, relying on God always. One Bible verse says it all "For God so loved world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life."-John 3:16 Ah, the blessed truth-it set me free.

Can you believe this beautiful jewel and the scruffy furball to the right are the same dog? We adopted our little Princess "Ashley" from Pets and People, a wonderful animal rescue shelter. She is a pure bred Schnauzer-amazing what a full grooming session will do! She's a joy! If you've been looking for a best friend, I encourage you to visit your local animal shelter or animal rescue organization. Open your heart and your home; you won't regret it!
