The Montana moss agate is world-renowned for its delicate beauty. The raw agates can be found along the Yellowstone River, primarily after the spring run-off. A number of rock hounds and jewelers make their homes in the towns along the River from Forsyth to Glendive. They create rings, earrings, pendants and belt buckles using Montana native stones.
