Unfortunately, Debbie and Oleg had to withdraw from US Nationals in 2001 due to injury. Earlier in the season, they finished seventh at the 2000 NHK trophy in Japan. They were previously US bronze medallists in 1999 and 2000.

"Debbie Koegel began skating when she was 11 years old after watching the 1988 Olympics. Her hobbies include swimming, rollerblading and writing. She also enjoys working with children, writing poetry and spending time outdoors. The athlete she admires most is Ekaterina Goordeva. Koegel would like to teach ice dancing and attend college in the future. She was a member of the National Honor Society from 1992-94 and was named to the "Who's Who" Among American High School Students. She has one cat named Maggie."

"Oleg Fediukov began skating when he was 5 on outdoor rinks in Moscow. He left the Soviet Union when he was 19 to train and compete in the U.S. He was officially sworn in as a U.S. citizen on Jan. 19, 2000, in Philadelphia, Pa., ending a seven year journey to citizenship. His hobbies include playing soccer, hockey, golf and tennis. Torvill & Dean have had the greatest impact on his career thus far because of their unique style and originality. He would like to become a head figure skating coach following his competitive career." (Courtesy of the USFSA)

Uschi is very enthusiastic about Debbie & Oleg's talent and the progress they have made. They are available for exhibitions. Please contact Uschi for details.
