We were worried about finding the ship - it wasn't a problem, it as quite visible from the road (and very distinctive). The inside of DCL's beautiful cruise terminal.

Denise checking in. The Magic can be seen through the windows. An impressive cutaway model of the ship.
sm_castle_on_floor_of_cruise_terminal.jpg (44112 bytes) sm_denise_terminal_infrontof_ears.jpg (53107 bytes) sm_boarding_magic.jpg (62889 bytes) sm_denise_in_front_of_room.jpg (41778 bytes)
Most of the floor of the terminal is a map of the Carribbean.  Although here, the employee is standing on a representation of Disney World. Denise waiting to enter through Mickey's ears. Herding through the turnstiles, only minutes away from entering the ship. Standing in front of our room #6100.
sm.denise_from_verandah.jpg (35831 bytes) sm_bathroom2.jpg (77943 bytes) 360 degree panorama of our room sm_denise_gameroom.jpg (59167 bytes)
Shot from the verandah, looking into the room.  You can see the railing and water in the reflection in the glass. One side of the split bathroom. Panorama of our room. Denise finds the air hockey table!
sm_stateroom_bed_couch.jpg (86466 bytes) sm_deck2.jpg (71832 bytes) sm_deck4.jpg (101117 bytes) sm_denise_on_deck.jpg (48768 bytes)
Our room was comfortable and spacious. A view of the forward part of the deck. Tthe outside of the ESPN lounge/club. Standing out on the deck prior to leaving port.   Bring earplugs, the horn is LOUD.
sm_elevator_mickey_hand.jpg (47234 bytes) sm_mickeypool.jpg (63162 bytes) sm_mickey_slide.jpg (62662 bytes) sm_jan_life_vest.jpg (54730 bytes)
Mickeys hand moves very slowly up and down (in other words - take the stairs). The childrens pool. The colorful Mickey slide. Jan in his very fashionable (and uncomfortable) life jacket.
sm_lifeboat_drill.jpg (47041 bytes) sm_lobby_looking_down.jpg (67114 bytes) sm_elevators_from_lobby.jpg (65772 bytes) sm_palo_line3.jpg (63925 bytes)
A sea of orange vests at the mandatory safety drill. Looking down on the lobby. The beautiful chandelier and glass elevators in the lobby. Waiting (and waiting and waiting) to make reservations at Palos.
sm_palos_kitchen.jpg (64620 bytes) sm_topsiders_buffet4.jpg (231545 bytes) sm_topsider_watermelon_carving.jpg (71419 bytes) sm_espn3.jpg (81870 bytes)
The view of the kitchen at Palos while waiting to make reservations. The welcome lunch at Topsiders Buffet - Yum! A beautiful watermelon carving from the welcome lunch (but alas, no ice sculptures :-)) The inside of the ESPN club.
sm_denise_lumiers.jpg (58313 bytes) jan_and_denise_front_lumiere.jpg (59522 bytes) sm_denise_on_deck_evening.jpg (56884 bytes) sm_denise_infront_animators.jpg (80845 bytes)
Lumieres is the most elegant of all the restaurants (except for Palos).  Having our photo taken in front of Helmsman Mickey. Denise on the deck after dinner (there was often a strong breeze at night). We checked out Animators Palate after dining at Lumiers.
sm_spa.jpg (72136 bytes) sm_spa3.jpg (110250 bytes) sm_scoops.jpg (57818 bytes) sm_scoops2.jpg (61478 bytes)
The Rainforest Room is wonderful for relaxing. A view inside a massage room. Perhaps the most popular place on the ship (when open). A DCL employee scooping ice cream for the masses.
sm_disneydreams_sign.jpg (82771 bytes) sm_jan_at_theater.jpg (61479 bytes) sm_appetizers_animators.jpg (52445 bytes) sm_food_at_animators_pal.jpg (63204 bytes)
The sign outside the theater for Disney Dreams. Jan outside the Walt Disney Theater. The appetizer sampler at Animators Palate. Our entrees at Animators Palate.
sm_denise_animators2.jpg (57511 bytes) jan_and_denise_at_animators.jpg (54850 bytes) jennifer_our_server_at_animators.jpg (31471 bytes) sm_jan_animators.jpg (48379 bytes)
The vest on the waiter in the background will eventually be turned over to the colored side. The shipboard photographers were everywhere. Our server Jennifer, during the finale at Animators Palate (i.e. - dessert). Jan at Animators Palate.
sm_denise_ankle2.jpg (91662 bytes) lighthouse_at_nassau.jpg (57813 bytes) jan_and_denise_gangway_nassau.jpg (40212 bytes) sm_denise_bahamas2.jpg (57445 bytes)
Finding out that my ankle had swollen to nearly golf ball size proportions after a klutzy accident on the balcony. Passing a lighthouse on our way into Nassau, shot from our verandah.

Getting off the boat in Nassau.

Denise waiting to reboard the taxi at the fort, the driver is in the white shirt behind her.
sm_dominos_pizza_truck.jpg (57043 bytes) cricket_field_nassau.jpg (63025 bytes) steps_into_ft_on_hist_tour.jpg (66314 bytes) sm_bahamas_watertower.jpg (62638 bytes)
Obviously not a vehicle for carrying large quantities of pizza. On our walk from the taxi to the fort, we passed this cricket field. Entering the barracks of the fort. Driving up to the water tower on our tour.
ships_from_water_tower.jpg (69760 bytes) paradise_island_from_water_tower.jpg (68124 bytes) sm_nassau_queens_staircase.jpg (256908 bytes) Topsider Buffet panorama
The Disney Magic from the top of the tower. The view from the top of the tower was spectacular, but we only had a few minutes up there to enjoy it. The Queens Staircase - beautiful, but lined with vendors. 360 degree panorama at Topsiders buffet overlooking the Bahamas.  The stitching of the photos is not smooth, but worth looking at.
sm_big_red_boat_nassau.jpg (75867 bytes) sm_Magic_next_to_Big_Red.jpg (51381 bytes) sm_bahamas_horseandbuggy.jpg (70294 bytes) sm_denise_at_palos.jpg (57564 bytes)
The wonderful view of Nassau from our verandah. The Disney Magic dwarfing the Big Red Boat. A horse and buggy in Nassau. The mushroom appetizer was fine, but a burger at Plutos would have been more to my preference (elegant dining and Denise don't mix well). :-)
sm_food_animators.jpg (65010 bytes) sm_jan_and_denise_palos.jpg (62847 bytes) sm_denise_outside_beat_street.jpg (43700 bytes) sm_jan_outside_magic_night_7.jpg (35458 bytes)
The calamari appetizer at Palos (Jan says it tastes like chicken). Palos boasts a 270 degree view of the ocean (on this day, the Bahamas).  Not every seat is near a window, however. On the way back to the room (to put some real clothes on), we stopped for a photo at Beat Street. An evening shot in front of the Magic docked in Nassau. The Big Red Boat had left by now.
sm_sessions_lounge.jpg (44194 bytes) jankanoo_show_on_deck.jpg (66156 bytes) sm_towel_swan.jpg (41092 bytes) from_veranda_pan.jpg (3527 bytes)
The inside of Sessions Lounge.  The Junkanoo show on the deck.  And there was even a midnight buffet afterwards. Our room attendant created animal sculptures out of towels to greet us in the evenings. 180 degree panorama of Castaway Cay from our Veranda.
ship_at_castaway_cay.jpg (68632 bytes) sm_denise_mount_rustmore.jpg (58997 bytes) sm_denise_castaway_cay_water2.jpg (46558 bytes) sm_castaway_cay_airplane_ramp.jpg (47399 bytes)
The Disney Magic docked at Castaway Cay. Posing at Mount Rustmore. The water at Castaway Cay was beautiful, and warm by afternoon, but the storm approaching changed plans for a swim. The airplane runway (now helicopter pad)  that leads to the adult beach. This is a long walk, take the tram or a bike.
sm_denise_castaway_cay_airplane.jpg (66566 bytes) castaway_beach_pan.jpg (1344 bytes) sm_jan_with_goofy.jpg (82721 bytes) sm_tom_our_server.jpg (65178 bytes)
Airplane at the adult beach end of the runway. 360 degree panorama of Castaway Cay from the family beach. It will take a few minutes to load, but it is worth it. It's the best panorama of the bunch with a nice zoom range. Jan meets Goofy! Tom, our assistant server.  He was extremely attentive to detail.
sm_towel_critter_in_hall.jpg (36073 bytes) sm_jan_with_mickey_statue.jpg (47089 bytes) sm_studio_sea.jpg (47090 bytes) sm_fitness_center.jpg (59068 bytes)
A towel critter left in front of a room down the hallway. Jan with Mickey outside of Studio Sea. Studio Sea. The fitness center was a little disappointing after using the Disney Institute's fabulous center in September.

Our last evenings meal was at Parrot Cay. Panorama of Disney Magic from parking lot. Okay, we are not on the ship anymore - but we stopped at the MK on the way home just to try out the new Buzz Lightyear attraction. The line with Buzz in the background.
