  • BibliothËque nationale de France: Gives general information, as well as instructions for using the online catalogue, BN-OPALE. The database is large, but not fully retrospective. Searching is slow, with no keyword option (yet), and the hours are quite limited. The exhibit on Charles V includes marvelous illuminations.

  • This is the web site of the UK's oldest and largest dark age 900-1066 re-creation society which re-enacts military conflict, living encampments and villages, ecclesiastcial life and most recently has started the Guild of Viking Navigators. They cover ethnic groups - welsh, vikings, saxons and normans.

  • Vulgate Bible: Because there are so many versions of this available, it may be helpful to recommend the one mounted by the ARTFL project at the University of Chicago, which provides a superior search interface.
