TORCH TRUST FOR THE BLIND

1999 - A Special Year

1999 is the 40th anniversary of the Heaths taking over the little magazine called "The Torch" and the start of the Torch Trust as it is today.

In Torch Family News - Spring '98 Ron and Stella Heath write:

"As we look into the future we feel the Lord is leading us to embark on a special programme to make Torch more widely known.

  1. We hope to make 1999 a very special year: by our testimony to 40 years fo His goodness;

  2. to make the aids available from Torch for visually impaired people more widely known;

  3. to inform committed Christians of our need for full time staff, and for volunteers to work in their local fellowship groups, or home-based processes connected with literature work, or aid projects;

  4. most important of all to give every visually impaired person in Britain the opportunity to hear or read the gospel message.

A strong, dedicated Torch Family in Britain can powerfully aid the spread of the gospel to other lands so that all visually impaired people, whatever their nationality, will be aware of the gospel message. We invite you to pray with us as we plan this special year."
