Traffic post warped in twister

The tornado that hit Catoosa, Okla. on April 24 of 1993 left behind some unusual pieces of scrap metal. For anyone who doubts the awesome strength of a tornado, there is this post. It probably belonged to a stop sign that was beheaded, but not before being twisted about like a wet noodle. Anyone taking a good hard look at this will understand why storm chasers tend to scoff at that scene in Twister when Helen Hunt clutches a pipe amid tornadic winds, but emerges without a scratch. . .
