StoryLabors are huge construction robots that were created in the late 20th century to aid in the massive construction boom in Tokyo. However, as Labors became more common, so too did Labor crimes. In order to combat this new threat to public safety, the Tokyo PD forms the Special Vehicle Teams, SV-1 and SV-2. While SV-1 grows a reputation of competence and professionalism, SV-2 becomes the laughing stock of the SVTs. SV-2 members Noa Izumi and her partner Asuma Shinohara are determined to prove them wrong in the first OVA series!In the first Patlabor movie, there is a decidedly dark turn. The genius behind the new Labor OS, HOS, E. Hoba, has ended his life by plunging off the Project Babylon construction tower. However, this mad genius left a legacy that threatens the whole of Japan with Labor rampages and destruction. An excellent detective story with well-timed suspense, this was an unexpected pleasure to view. Highly recommended! |
