All-time T&F bests: Ran hurdles my first two years
at Arkansas Tech University, with a best of 14.7 in the 120y highs and about
54-55 in the 440y intermediates. Had some sub-50 (barely) mile relay splits.

Masters achievements: After 21-year layoff, began competing
again in 1994. In 1995, raced distances from the 100m to the marathon. Ran
a 58.27 400m and 26.7 200m in 1995. At the last Oklahoma all-comers meet
of 1995, I ran 400 hurdles in 67.1 (and vowed not to run 'em again). Possibly
my best masters achievment has been to organize relay teams, and I have ran
on a 4X800 relay (9:53) and a 4X400 relay (4:05) this year, both of which
are state age-group records.

Trivia: I am a coach for the Tulsa Track Club, and spend
a great amount of time coaching young runners and working as a meet official
(if you want a real challenge, try being a meet official, parent, coach and
athlete -- all in the same meet). I coached a Midget Boys 4X800 relay in
1995 that won the silver medal at the USATF Youth Athletics National
Championship. I have compiled state age-group best performances of the top
20-60 performances by athletes of all ages based on meet results and other
data going back as far as 1964, a project I have only recently finished after
9 months of intense work.

CEO's note: Despite his earlier vow, George ran the 400m
hurdles again and produced an outstanding 64.46 to take fifth in the 1996
USATF masters championships in Spokane. He also was sixth in the 110m hurdles
in 18.76 and recorded a 57.74 heat time in the open 400m. At the Eugene WAVA
meet, he was second in 110 hurdles (17.80) and ran 400m hurdles in 64.49.
He's also a mover behind the Tulsa
Track Club Web site.
