Webmaster TC: Liz Johnson

Vice president,
hurdling radio personalities

Name: Liz Johnson, ljohnson@vnet.net

Born: July 12, 1956, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

Occupation: Morning show personality/news anchor and comedy writer at WRHI-AM radio

Home: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

All-time T&F bests:100m 14.8, 400m 1:14, 400 hurdles 1:26, steeplechase 11:06.

Masters achievements: Set North Carolina records 40-44 100m, 200m, 400m and 100m hurdles. Won W40 gold medal in steeplechase and silver in 400m hurdles at the Nike World Masters Games in 1998. Second place in my first triathlon in Clemson, May 1998.

Trivia: Liz writes: "Took up sprinting as my midlife crisis at the age of 40. Continuing my crisis, I moved onto attempting the 400 hurdles before my 42cnd birthday. I always go for the big win -- in the Miss Congeniality category....Coach of 7- and 8-year-old girls in Police Athletic League (one gold and three silver medals at AAU Nationals in just two years of coaching.)"

CEO's note: Liz goes out on the limb in more than just track. She's had a "Liberal Liz" radio talk show in the South. She writes: "Now I anchor the news and am a Personality on 1341 WRHI Radio. I publish monthy comedy pieces on my experiences as a senior runner with more cellulite than I would care to admit. Also I write comedy for our show." But in track she's Ms. Serious. (Not easy to laugh while approaching the last hurdle in the one-lap event.)

See Nedstats for very detailed information on visits since September 16, 1998.
