The Masters Track Listserve is the biggest development for masters online since moi. This forum supplements my own Message Board, the T-and-F mailing list and Runner's World Online's Masters forum.


Jess Brewer's Online Age-Graded Converter is the first of its kind to cover all indoor and outdoor track and field events. It's a milestone development for our niche. Check it out.


David Ortman's 1998 World Masters List is the best attempt so far to compile a set of seasonal global bests for 1998, which included major meets in the USA and Europe.


Clay Hull's List and Dave Clingan's List of 1999 top seasonal masters marks are milestones in our genre. Not all events and age groups are listed, but these represent a serious start of a long-overdue effort.


The National Senior Games Association at last has put together a Web site covering the 50-state Senior Olympics circuit. Many parts of this site are still under construction, but its design is very ambitious.


The new, improved National Masters News site includes U.S. Standards of Excellence, a coaches list and other delights.


The World Association of Veteran Athletes site is webmastered by WAVA executive and decathlete Rex Harvey, whose skills know no bounds. The site, under construction as is the constant case of everyone, already has complete 1997 Durban results.


Eugene 2000 is the site for the USATF National Masters Outdoor Championships on Aug.10-13, 2000, at the University of Oregon's legendary Hayward Field.


Cyberthrows is the home of a virtual monthly weight pentathlon competition organized by Floridians Lorraine and Reed Quinn.


The 13th World Veterans Athletic Championships were July 29 to August 8, 1999, in Gateshead, England. The WAVA meet site includes results.


The 14th World Veterans Athletic Championships will be July 5-15, 2001, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.


The Kiwis are counting on 7,000 athletes for the New Zealand Masters Games in February 2000. It will be in the port city of Dunedin on the Southern island.


Asia Pacific Masters Games includes results of the 1998 meet. The next games are October 28 to November 5, 2000, on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. We're told: "The first event in 1998 attracted 9,500 participants, and the 2000 event is expected to attract more than 12,000."


The 20th Commemorative Japan International Masters meet is in November 1999 in Kumamoto

British Veterans Athletic Federation site lists 11 veterans clubs as well as meets and other information.


The Western Australia Veterans Athletic Club has nice jazzy music on its site. Kudos to vet sprinter John Stone in Perth.


The Oregon Track Club based out of the Track Capital of the USA in Eugene, welcomes masters as well as Hayward Field elites.


The Vicvets site caters nicely to Victoria, Australia, veterans.


The 1998 USATF National Masters Outdoor meet was July 30-August 2 at the University of Maine in Orono. Meet organizers may try for a future masters nationals.


Racing with Gerry Krainik is perhaps the best personal masters page around, featuring an amazing amount of sprint training and technique tips from a number of authoritative sources and resources from a national-class 400m man.


Coach Ross Dunton, a masters track guru in Tennessee, offers some sage advice on training, technique and injury prevention geared toward masters athletes. He also coaches via e-mail.


The Arizona Masters Track and Field Page features schedules and results in a state where track is hot. Webmaster Clay Hull is off to a great start.


Alberta, Canada, masters athletics is the subject of this page by Rick Larush, Alberta director, Canadian Masters Athletic Association.


Veterans Sports in Hong Kong includes track, of course. If you're China-bound, check out this site.


Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah is one of several Senior Olympics sites around. This one is among the best, since it lists track results going back to 1995.


Kajaks Masters Track Club in Richmond, British Columbia, started its wonderful Web site in May 1998. It features results, athlete profiles and soon some training tips. Kudos to Kajaks webmaster Andrew Delecki.


A new, sophisticated regional masters site is North New Jersey Masters, webmastered by Dave Rayner. Dave has some pretty advanced HTML skills and the site is a blast, with animations and lots of information.


The Mary Libal Story by Oregon sportswriter Doug Binder is titled: "Gaining Speed." But it's really about gaining courage. Ewen Thompson of Running Writing graciously reported the URL on Libal (pronounced LEE-bull), the national champion W45 sprinter.


World masters records are online thanks to Olavi Niemi, who has compiled indoor and outdoor records in all the 5-year age groups. Also listed are European, Scandinavian and Finnish national veterans records. Niemi is with Perpetuum Mobile magazine, writes Georg Dunkel, webmaster of the records page as well as czar of his own Finnish Veterans 400 Site.


Annette's Seite is devoted to German masters track & field. It's run by Annette Koop of Germany, a W35 WAVA middle-distance champion who lists Deutsche masters records and recent results and offers a wunderbar set of German track links.


The Australian Association of Veterans Athletics Clubs is a Who's Who of the Aussies who run the show down under. Big upcoming meets are listed as well.


The Jim Ryun Documentary site doesn't mention his intermittent masters forays (such as road runs or his participation in an Iffley Road track handicap mile race of ex-WR milers in 1994). But masters runner John Rinkenbaugh was producer-director of this video treat. Rink writes:"The tape is ... for sale. $29.95 plus shipping and handling for $33 even.... The tape not only includes the documentary but the entire 3:58.3 Jim ran at the 1965 Kansas State High School Championship, the only sub-4 in high school competition."


Bubba's Blackmail Page is my name for a Web site focusing on ex-Texan Doug "Bubba" Sparks, a stud mid-40s vaulter from Newport Beach, California.


Dan Borrey's Recovery site deals with his injuries and comeback. He's the 1995 world M45 pole vault champion and M50 record holder.
New York City-based AURA International TC is a site devoted to Coach Howard Adams' elite masters racers. The site is elite in sophistication as well.


USATF masters page was supposed to be done by now, but I never found the time to produce content and upload. My apologies to all. We're looking for a new webmaster for that site.


In the Netherlands, the Atletiekvereniging NEA Volharding site is very interesting, but can someone help with translation?


Juha Eriksson's Masters Track & Field Page is the modest site of a submaster jumper who specializes in standing long jump and high jump and claims Finnish records n both. He's posted nice color shots of himself and his family.


Long-distance age converter by David Klawitter of Oklahoma's Graphics i.e. is a wonderful addition to the age-graded genre. Look for this in the Race Results section of Oklahoma Runner Magazine -- part of the Running Network.


The Decathlon Records Site chronicles "absolute" records in the 10-event challenge. Webmaster Dave T keeps track of the best "absolute" eca scores by age., all the way up to 89.


Texas Track & Field includes masters in the mix. Phil Murray is webmaster. We look for BIG things from this Lone Star site.


Absolute Age-Group Records, a weight lover's site by Tony Dziepak, lists throws records where no one older has thrown farther for ages above the world record, and no one younger has thrown farther for ages below the world record.


Finnish Veterans 400 site lists the top masters long-dash men and women in all age groups. Webmaster Georg Dunkel has done a very nice job.


The U.S. Corporate Athletics Association promotes an annual championships involving U.S. companies such as GE, AT&T and Texas Instruments, and fosters masters track through its program. Nice history of nationals includes photos.


The Race Schedule Page by M40 hurdler Andrew Hecker aims to list as many California track and running events as he can find. The site features masters T&F meets, training groups and (his specialty) T&F on TV.


Long and Strong Throwers Page by Glenn Thompson includes worthwhile tips, great throwing links and inspiration.


Tulsa Track Club page from George Hall is a professional looking Web site with animation and athlete profiles, including masters.


ACT Veterans Athletic Club from Colin Bridge in Australia is a results-packed Web site, an outgrowth of Doug Fry's superb Australian Masters Track page. The Australian National T&F Page also lists masters efforts as part of open meet results.


Age-Graded Distance Tables by Professor Rodney Pearson are back after an absence.


Mjolnir Throwers Club is noted by master weightman William A. Patrick.


Masters Athlete Physiology and Performance has a running section and is looking for contributions. Webmaster is Dr. Stephen Seiler, an American exercise physiologist working in Norway. Dr. Seiler also has compiled some inspirational quotations intended for masters athletes.


Vaultworld by Kevin Hanson and Steve Miller includes masters jumpers and the prime directive: Altitude with attitude!


USATF long-distance running site includes many age-group records and current rankings. Webmaster Basil Honikman is doing great work.


Pacific Association USATF site takes masters competition quite seriously. Thom Trimble is webmaster for the Northern California-based page.


USATF's record site has a voluminous listing of masters long-distance records for all age groups.

The T-and-F Mailing List is the legendary rough-and-tumble (and absolutely essential) resource for track fans. This is where elite athletes, coaches and track officials meet for daily treats and digests.

All-event training site is a list of links to training and technique Web sites courtesy of the British Athletics Federation. Only a few events (including the 400-meter hurdles) are not listed.

All-time T&F Performances home page is a creation of Peter Larsson of Sweden.


Running Amuck by awesome webmaster Doug Lynch of California boasts the largest list of updated running related links on the Internet.


International Athletics Coaches Network is the latest offering of Aussie Web legend Steve Bennett, who writes: "A Web site has been set up to make it easier for coaches on the Internet to meet up with each other for the purpose of developing their coaching knowledge. The site is organised in event groups with a place for each participant to describe briefly their main interests and situation. The establishment of networks of coaches who share information and discuss key concepts via e-mail has the potential to much more valuable than any book that can be found."


Remko Riebeek of Holland may have the most comprehensive set of T&F links in the universe. He specializes in T&F clubs around the world.


The British Milers Club is a model for the future. Now sponsored by Nike, which is providing prize money for club events, this highly organized group of middle-distance runners encourages veterans as well as youngsters. It produced a world veterans 4-mile relay record of 18:11.9 in 1995.


The High Jump Home Page is a wonderful Web site for anyone serious about the best natural high short of pole-vaulting. Webmaster Todd Acheson of Minnesota also offers software to determine one's *intercept point* -- where one begins the curve in the flop approach.


The Track & Field Jumps Page by Coach Mike Stewart offers training tips for all the jumps, especially the triple. Nice photos of athletes in action.


Dave's World Class Racewalking page is all you need for this discipline. National-class racewalker and coach Dave McGovern offers lots of links to the world of lock-kneed heel-toeing.


Scott Dvorak's T&F Home Page is a beautiful designed and entertaining page devoted mainly to steeplechaser Scott's own long-distance running and training -- but features the niftiest background texture of an HTML page: a red Tartan track. His training diary is an inspiration.


The Runner's Niche by editor and webmaster Woody Green is a collection of his monthly running newsletters, which are mailed free to those who e-mail him their interest. He has a Jim Ryun image on site and mentions masters.


Nerd World: Track and Field has quite a few links to other track and running sites. Even nerds can run, jump and throw.


Do It Sports, the official provider of Web services for USATF, features running and track & field links -- and a growing calendar of scheduled track meets by U.S. region, thanks to the yeoman work of Michigander Jeff Hollobaugh.


Trackcity.com is webmastered by Peter Oviatt.


Track & Field News persists in ignoring masters, but it lists the MT&F site. So it goes.


Trackwire.com is a newsy site that shows great promise.
