NOTE: These pics are highly compressed.
Photos on the CD are in much higher resolution than these small samples.

Travel back in time to see Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, Sylvan Lake and other historic places. View the Stratobowl launchings and visit the camps of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Particular attention is paid to the "Heart of the Hills". Over 70 images depict historic Hill City, known back then as "One Mile of Hell", since saloons far outnumbered houses of worship in this rowdy territorial town. The Hill City photos were replicated in 1998 to show the many changes that have taken place over the last 100 years.

News items, ads and full-page scans taken directly from turn-of-the-century issues of Hill City's Harney Peak Mining News, along with first-person recollections and many authentic photographs of the era provide an entertaining journey into the Gold Rush Days of the Black Hills.

Copies are now being made available on the web for the researcher, historian and anyone who appreciates looking back in time.
