The Steel Cat    RIGID MODULAR CATENARY SYSTEM

This operational catenary system  is constructed of two main components, stanchions and conductors. The stanchions are constructed of 1/4" welded steel I beams supplied with conductor mounting hardware and nylon insulators. There are three types:

Half Stanchions ( shown in the photo) support the conductors from one side of the track.

Full Stanchions support the conductors from both sides.

Power Stanchions supply current to the system via a terminal post.

The conductors are constructed of heavy gauge steel wire and are fastened to the stanchions by a center bracket and to each other by end brackets (4-40 mounting hardware is supplied). The conductors are fully insulated from the stanchions. Conductors are available for all track and curve radii. (We even supply a kit for Gargraves Flex )

COST:  The cost of a system will vary depending on the size, but it is inexpensive. For example a 4' x 8' layout in O-Gauge ( O-31 ) sells for between $98.00 to $115.00 depending on options. Of course each system is as unique as the layout it's on.
