John is the son of Les, the M.D. of the original manufacturer and worked for many years in the factory that produced the Mellotron, he is an acknowledged expert in all things that are Tron shaped. Martin is the Mellotron enthusiast who handles sales, delivery etc. and can also give expert advice if your Mellotron is sick or can help you to obtain a 'new' machine. They are the only people on the planet who can offer a FULL renovation package for all models of Mellotrons and Novatrons.

Using genuine components, Streetly Electronics can fully restore your Mellotron / Novatron both electronically and mechanically to original factory specification. They can also supply fully restored machines that can also be customised to meet your requirements.

The current interest in the Mellotron is more than a fashion thing, it's just that people are re-discovering the instrument's unique sound. With an eight second 'sample' under every note there is no need for loops or pitch shifting. Mellotrons are enjoying a well deserved revival and can be found on albums as diverse as King Crimson's 'THRAK', Radiohead's 'OK COMPUTER', Jean Michel Jarre's 'OXYGENE 7 - 13', Julian Cope's '20 MOTHERS' to Oasis' 'WHAT'S THE STORY' and 'STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS'.

All sorts of people approach us from the enthusiastic owner who has had a machine for years, those who have a completely worn out and neglected instrument, people who 'have always wanted a genuine instrument' and those who have only discovered this unique instrument recently.
